Please see below what you will expect in our exciting day of Floristry training:

Course name: Wedding Flower Masterclass

Price: £1,350

Time: (9am-4/5pm)
This time will depend on experience. Do NOT feel pressured with this time frame. We will make sure you walk away with everything you need to know.

How the day transpires:
  • We start the day as if it was a typical day starting our wedding flowers for our clients big day.
  • We unbox our fresh flowers, delivered on the day from wholesale and learn how to price stems in order to gain a profit. You will need to know this before the initial iteration with your potential bride or groom. Setting up a pricing structure and price list for you to send to your couple, as they will always want to know your prices before any of the consultations and quoting begins, so we will know the couple are interested before we put masses of time into it for it to not turn into a sale. We look through the best wholesalers in your area to make sure you’re ordering the best quality and service available. Clients collecting their wedding flowers or pricing delivery and set up fees, as well as preparing a set up which isn’t in our normal delivery area. We talk through all different styles of wedding flowers such as dried, artificial, fresh, boho, whimsical, traditional, modern, structured and unstructured designs and many more. My go to wedding flower recipes and the best stems to use in your bouquets and  arrangements, so you know exactly what to order so you’re not left with masses of extra stock. Knowing your seasons well in order to know off the top of your head what flowers are in season so you seem knowledgeable in your face to face consultation or over the phone.

Then we start CREATING ðŸŒ¸ðŸ’•
  • We start with my most sort after bridal bouquet. Bridal bouquets are completely different to everyday bouquets and it requires a special skill set to master which you will learn on the day. We learn the art of spiralling a compact, hand held bridal bouquet using various different flowers and foliage. As well as binding, taping and wrapping our stems with ribbon or twine and different ways you can do this.

  • We then go onto a teardrop bridal bouquet. This is completely different to the bouquet we just created, as this is classed as an arrangement bouquet which is created on a floral foam base. These are also know as a bridal shower handle. I will teach you how to prepare your stems into smaller units really to go into the floral foam for maximum life. A tear drop bouquet is exactly what it says. It’s a tear drop shape which has a draping end, this is a traditional style of floristry, but is still used a lot in this current day and it’s essential to know.

  • Next is bridesmaid bouquets. My most popular request is a smaller version of the bridal bouquet or a gypsophila posy. We will be creating a gypsophila posy which are of course smaller than the bridal bouquet. Although this may seem easy to just use gypsophila, it’s not. There is an art to this and you need to know how to properly separate your gyp and use the right units of the gyp stem to use in your bouquet. You cannot just use a full stem of gyp. The length and dimension needs to be perfect to create the desired, professional look. We will also learn to bind, tape and ribbon the bouquet.

  • Buttonholes- we will again create my most requested style of buttonhole. There are various different ways of creating a buttonhole, traditional and modern. You can you many different flowers. We will discuss all of this whilst making our buttonhole we are creating.

  • Top Table arrangement- We will be creating a 3ft long and low flower spray using the flowers and foliage matching the bridal bouquet. I will teach you the golden rules of floristry using the triangle technique and the art of lines for your arrangement to be visually pleasing from all directions of the room.

  • Table centres- We will be creating my most requested table centre pieces which are posies. We will learn how to make a domed arrangement best fit for the wedding reception tables. Once you have learned this skill. These exact principles can be used in bigger arrangements and large pedestal arrangements for the tables.

  • Pedestal arrangements- These arrangements are best fit for a church wedding or an arrangement to sit at the front of the ceremony room on a pedestal. This is where your new knowledge of triangles and lines will come into place. This will be a large, tall arrangement we will be creating, using traditional principles with modern flower placing.

  • Lastly we will be creating a pew end-These are front facing bouquets using various sizing of stems in order to get our desired look. I will teach you the best ways to attach these to the pews or chairs and make sure you have the right equipment to do this.

All your bouquets and arrangements will be critiqued by me whilst making them to make sure you are fully aware of the placement, quality and look of your designs so they are the best they can possibly be so at the end of the day, we can take photos of your work for content ready for social media, your website or portfolio. You can also take your work away with you to take more content, take apart and practise more or sell them, possibly making your first sales!

What’s with the wait? There is no better time to start your wedding floristry career than now.

Once I have been given the go ahead by yourself I require a £100 holding fee for your date and the balance can be paid any time up to a week before your date.
